Business Search
Find businesses inside a map radius and export their public Google Maps details.
Business Search, a PirateSERP research tool in the Research group of the sidebar, finds up to 20 Google Maps businesses inside a circle you draw on a map. Each result lists the business's address, phone number, rating, opening hours, reviews, and website, and you can export the list as a CSV file.
Business Search runs on your own Google Maps key. Save a Google Maps (Places API) key from a Google Cloud project with Places API (New) enabled in Account Settings before you search. Every search requires the key, including a repeat of an earlier search. Read API keys for setup.
Search an area
- Select the project. If the project has saved services or locations, choose a Business service or Business location to fill the search term and place name.
- Enter a Search term, such as a service or a business name.
- Set the search center. Enter a Location and click Find on map (or press Enter), click the map, or drag the red pin.
- Check Latitude, Longitude, and Radius (miles).
- Click Search Businesses.
The radius accepts 0.1 miles or more. A radius larger than 31 miles is searched as 31 miles.
Typing a new place name in Location clears the pin and the circle, because the old point no longer matches the name. Set the point again with Find on map or a map click before you search.
Results use the project's content language. Read Projects and Languages to change it.
Review businesses
The radius is a hard limit: Business Search shows only businesses inside the circle. A small radius in a thinly populated area can return few or no businesses. When nothing matches, Business Search shows "No businesses found. Try a broader term or a larger radius."
Three summary tiles report the average rating, the total reviews across all listings, and how many businesses have a website. Each map pin opens a popup with the business name, address, and rating.
Expand a result to see its details:
- Address, phone number, price level, and business status.
- Website and Google Maps links.
- Coordinates, Place ID, and plus code.
- Opening hours, categories, and a short summary when the listing has one.
- A business photo, which loads when you expand the result.
- Recent reviews with rating, author, and date.
Fields depend on the public listing. A missing website or phone number in Business Search does not prove that the business has none.
Export and reopen results
Click Export CSV to download the results. The CSV file includes the name, address, phone number, rating, review count, price level, open status, website, Google Maps URL, Place ID, coordinates, categories, hours, business status, plus code, and summary for each business.
Saved searches appear under Past searches for the active project, with the date, result count, and radius. Click a search to reopen it on the map, or click its trash icon (Delete search) to remove it.
A search returns up to 20 businesses. Change the search term, the radius, or the center for a different sample. Google bills Google Maps usage to your Google Cloud account.
To compare one business's Google Business Profile with its website, use GBP Audit. To check local rankings across a map grid, use GeoPin Generator.
