GBP Audit
Compare a Google Business Profile with its website and review discrepancies.
GBP Audit, the PirateSERP profile-to-website comparison, reads a Google Business Profile (GBP), crawls the business website, and scores how well the two agree on services, identity, and geography. GBP Audit needs no separate data-provider key.
Find the business
- Switch to the project you want from the header, and choose a Business location when the form offers one.
- Review Business website.
- Enter Google Maps URL or business name. Add the City when you search by name.
- Choose a Business model: Storefront (customers come to you), Service-area (you go to customers), or Hybrid (both).
- Review Language.
- Optionally, choose an Industry (optional) to compare against. See Compare against an industry.
- Choose Pages to crawl. See Choose which pages are read.
- Click Find the business.
- Check the name, category, address, rating, and review count of the returned listing. Click the button that begins Yes - crawl to continue, or click No - start over to discard the run and return to the form.
GBP Audit searches Google in the project's Primary search market country from the project's business profile, or in the United States when that field is empty. If a shortened Maps link does not resolve, enter a full listing URL, or the business name and city.
Keep the tab open while the website crawl runs. If the crawl fails, GBP Audit deletes the unfinished run and returns you to the form. If the crawl finishes but its results cannot be saved, the message Could not save the crawl appears and GBP Audit returns you to the listing check, so you can click the button that begins Yes - crawl to retry without another listing lookup.
Choose which pages are read
Pages to crawl offers two kinds of option.
Choose Follow links, 20 pages, Follow links, 40 pages, or Follow links, 50 pages to start at the home page and follow internal links until the crawl reaches that many pages. A link that redirects to another website is recorded as a failed page, and the crawl continues with the rest of the site.
Choose a Site Audit entry to read the pages that a saved Site Auditor crawl already found, instead of following links again. Each entry shows the audit's starting address and page count. GBP Audit still reads each page fresh, because a Site Audit does not store the phone numbers, addresses, and structured data that GBP Audit scores.
The list shows only finished Site Audits of the same website, with or without www, in the active project. Run Site Auditor first if you want this option, and change Business website before you choose an entry.
Compare against an industry
Industry (optional) adds a check for services that similar businesses publish and this website never mentions.
The check counts only services that your Service Atlas research has confirmed, so a newly researched industry can contribute nothing. Build the industry in Service Atlas first if the list is empty.
If the comparison cannot be prepared, the rest of the audit still completes. Leave Industry (optional) empty to skip the check.
Confirm missing information
After the crawl, GBP Audit reports the pages crawled, the service candidates, the location mentions, and the phone numbers it detected. Google does not publish some profile fields, so GBP Audit can ask you for them.
When asked Which of these website services are configured in GBP?, answer each service:
- In GBP counts the service as covered by the profile.
- Not in GBP counts the service as missing from the profile.
- Don't know leaves the service out of the coverage score, so it never counts against you.
For a service-area or hybrid business, paste the GBP service areas from your Google Business Profile dashboard, one per line or separated by commas. Leave the field empty to skip the service-area check. Do not infer configured service areas from the business address.
Click Generate report. The report combines your answers with the website and listing evidence.
Review findings
The report opens with an overall score out of 100 and four category scores: Relevance, Prominence, Geographic Alignment, and Profile Completeness. A category without enough evidence shows no score.
Start with Do these first, then review the findings in each category. Each finding carries a status, a detail line, its evidence, and a recommendation where one applies. Unknown means GBP Audit lacks the evidence to judge that item, and unknown findings are excluded from every score.
Reviews, questions, and posts summarizes the listing's public activity:
- Recent reviews shows the newest sampled reviews by month and the share with an owner reply.
- Public questions shows how many sampled questions are unanswered and quotes up to five of them.
- Google posts shows the age of the newest post.
These figures come from a sample, not the complete history of the listing. A review finding reads "At least" a number of reviews in the last 90 days only when the listing can hold more recent reviews than the sample shows.
Fix and compare
Make corrections in your Google Business Profile or on your website. PirateSERP does not publish those changes for you.
Click New audit to run another audit and compare findings. Past audits lists the active project's audits with each score, or the status of an audit that has no report yet. Click an audit to reopen it, or click the delete control to remove it. An audit that stopped before its report cannot reopen, so delete it and run another audit. Click Print report for a printable copy.
Location and language limits
Phone and address checks expect US phone number and ZIP code formats. Review phone, address, and geographic findings by hand for businesses outside the United States. The Language choice does not change those checks.
