Google Ads Audit
Connect your Google Ads account read-only, find wasted spend and tracking problems, and draft ads, keyword plans, and landing-page fixes.
Google Ads Audit reviews your own Google Ads account and turns what it finds into a short, prioritized action plan. It reads your reports only: it never changes a campaign, keyword, bid, or budget. Anything it suggests, such as negative keywords or new ad copy, you export and apply yourself.
The same page holds three copy tools that don't need a connected account: a responsive search ad (RSA) builder, a keyword plan, and an ad-to-landing-page check.
The action plan and the copy tools use your own OpenRouter API key and model, set in Account Settings. The audit findings themselves need no API key.
Connect your account
- In the header, switch to the project that you want.
- Click Account audit.
- Click Connect Google Ads.
- Sign in with a Google Account that has access to your Google Ads account, and then allow Google Ads access.
- On the Google Ads Audit page, select the advertiser account to audit. If you sign in through a manager account, the list shows the accounts under it.
Each project holds its own connection. To audit a different account, click Change account. Disconnect removes PirateSERP's copy of the authorization for the project and keeps your saved audits. To remove the permission at Google's end as well, use the third-party access page of your Google Account.
Run an audit
Click Run audit. The audit takes up to a minute and appears in the project's history when it finishes.
The audit covers 30 days ending a week ago. The most recent week is left out because conversions keep arriving for days after a click, so a recent click that has not converted yet is not counted as wasted.
Read the audit
Tracking confidence comes first: High, Medium, Low, or Broken. It rates how far you can trust your conversion numbers. Below Medium, the audit marks cost-per-conversion and budget findings as provisional, and the action plan tells you to fix tracking before you change bids or budgets.
Your model writes the Action plan from the findings, with up to three actions in priority order. If the model is unavailable, the findings are still complete.
Each finding is tagged Fix, Check, or Note, and opens to a table of the rows behind it. The audit looks for the following:
- Search terms that spent money without converting, and the recurring words that carry most of that spend
- Negative keywords that block searches that convert
- Converting searches that aren't keywords yet
- Keywords with a Quality Score below 5
- Thin responsive search ads, single-ad ad groups, and Performance Max asset groups rated Poor or Average
- Disapproved ads and campaigns that aren't serving fully
- Search campaigns that lose impressions to Ad Rank or to budget, and brand campaigns below 70% impression share
- Campaigns that spend their whole budget, or less than half of it
- Google recommendations that your account's own data argues against
- Changes made to the account in the last 14 days
If the project has a Web Analytics report with Search Console data, the audit also compares paid and organic search. It flags searches you pay for where you already rank in the top 3, and searches where you appear below position 5 with no ad.
Export negative keywords
In the Negative keywords section, to download a CSV file that you can import into Google Ads Editor, click Export all wasted terms. Review the list first: a search that has not converted yet is not always irrelevant.
To sort the list, describe what the business sells, and then click Review wasted terms with AI. The review keeps buyers and comparison shoppers, marks only searches that can never become customers, such as job seekers or people looking for something free, and suggests a phrase or exact negative for each. Export the marked terms from the review.
Write ad copy
Click RSA builder, fill in the product, benefits, call to action, and funnel stage, and then click Write ad assets. You get up to 15 headlines and 4 descriptions, each within Google's 30- and 90-character limits, with the character count beside each line. The ads repeat only the claims you enter. Copy them or download a CSV.
Build a keyword plan
Click Keyword plan, enter a seed keyword, market, language, and what the business sells, and then click Build keyword plan. The plan starts from keyword ideas, with real monthly searches and bid ranges, and groups them into ad groups with a suggested match type and funnel stage. Ideas that do not fit the business are left out.
Check an ad against its landing page
Click Landing page match, enter the page address and the ad text, and then click Check the match. The report lists where the page does not deliver what the ad promises, with a fix for each, and suggests three calls to action that match the ad.
History
Every audit and copy-tool run is saved to the project. To reopen a run, click it in History for this project. To delete a run, click its Delete icon button.
